Jacob Elmer Clan News
Presented in reverse chronological order.

3/29/25 - This afternoon / evening I got all of the old family meeting minutes scanned and converted into PDF file format. You can find them using the "Clan Archive" link above.

3/20/25 - Some big news ... Time has finally been allocated to work on the Elmer Family Clan project.

As old-timers will remember, beginning in 1929, the clan met on a regular basis, with representatives from each branch providing updates on their respective families. This information was compiled and added to the physical records, initially via typewriter, and most recently using wordprocessing software. New "books" were printed every five years.

It has been my intent since assuming the responsibilty, to convert all of this data into a modern genealogical software file format. This conversion has many benefits. Information is easily added and edited. Reports can be printed or saved in common sharable formats, such as PDF. And eventually, I should be able to present our family tree to all interested parties via this web site.

If you are interested in helping get the family records up-to-date, please Contact Us for more information.

3/18/25 - We took our grandsons on a "Spring Break" field trip to the Clarkes Pioneer Cemetery. We visited family plots, brought some cleaning supplies, and cleaned some monuments. The photo below of Jacob and Alwina Elmer's includes their great-great-great grandson (Mike) and the boys are their great-great-great-great-great grandsons. While there, we also fulfilled several Find a Grave photo requests for other families.

5/13/22 - Not a lot has been done on the site and no contact from other family members have been received it ages. If you are a family member, please contact us so that we can build a family mailing list to keep connected! We are hoping to start having more time to spend on family history and geanealogy in the near future.

4/2/2008 - Mike Dunton takes a peek at the information and documentation and wonders what he has gotten himself into! As a farmer and seedsman, this is the wrong time of year to be taking on a project like this, but the reality is that it needs to be done and I have the technical skills to at least organize the information and get it into an electronic format. Time permitting, information will be added to the site.

Several pages were created today - A finance page to report income and expenses, this news page, a new main page, and a page with photographs scanned and sent in by Bill and Josi Hiller in 2002. Also one of pictures from Elm, Switzerland taken in 2004.

4/1/2008 - Larry Dunton met with cousin Daniel Fries in Lincoln City, Oregon to pick up the family organization archive.

3/27/2008 - The elmerfamily.org domain name was registered and a new website created.
